About

Aitzi moved to London in 2018 to study Jazz voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. With a wide breadth of musical experience both in England and across Europe, her influences cross continents and genres. Ella Fitzgerald and Norma Winstone have had a large impact on her musicianship but what truly sets her apart is her deep connection with her Latin-American roots and her unique exploration of vocal improvisation.

Aitzi is no stranger to the music industry, bursting onto the scene in 2014 singing and cowriting an award-winning single in Germany. This propelled her into a rich musical life, touring at a young age in Italy, France, Russia and Germany. Since her arrival in London, Aitzi has worked hard on her craft as an improvising vocalist, studying under Brigitte Beraha, Clare Wheeler, Nikki Iles, and Tina May. Alongside her work as a solo performer, she has been heavily involved in many vocal ensembles; notably, she was a founding member of the award-winning A-Capella group "The Conchords" and has recently joined leading jazz vocal ensemble "The London Vocal Project" under Pete Churchill, resulting in collaborations with Norma Winstone, Dave Holland and the Printmakers.

In 2022, Aitzi was honoured  with the "Gutenberg Jazz Collective", an excellence program that selects young and talented musicians from around the world to learn from a selection of mentors over the duration of a year. There she had the opportunity to work with Kris Davis, Ben Street, Billy Hart, Becca Stevens and Ingrid Jensen as part of their mentorship program.

Since moving to London, Aitzi has been performing at a variety of locations across the city, such as the Vortex Jazz Club, 606 Club, Pizza Express Live Soho, Ronnie Scotts, and the Barbican.

Most recently, Aitzi has been making waves in the music scene with her projects, which she has been debuting at the renowned 606 Club. One of these projects is the "Shades of Songs", a collaborative endeavor with pianist Scottie Thompson. This duo breathes new life into the Great American Songbook, offering a fresh perspective while also introducing their original compositions. Parallel to this, Aitzi leads the "TETHYS Quintet", a project that redefines the role of the voice. In this quintet, Aitzi’s passion for wordless singing is embraced, with the voice serving as a fundamental instrument alongside the guitar, adding a unique layer to the quintet’s sound.

Her unique ability for wordless singing has also been a defining feature of the Milena Granci Sextet making ver a vital part of the groups sound. Moreover, she has been a significant addition to the Philip Weyand's "Myosotis", with whom she recorded and toured in autumn 2023. Most recently, Aitzi can be seen as a feature in Sofia Will's Large ensemble "VOLO".

These projects showcase Aitzi’s versatility and creativity, marking her as a standout figure in contemporary music.
