About
Aitzi moved to London in 2018 to study Jazz Voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. With a wide breadth of musical experience both in England and across Europe, her influences cross continents and genres. While icons like Shirley Horn and Norma Winstone have shaped her
artistry, it’s her deep connection to her Latin-American roots and her innovative exploration of vocal improvisation that truly sets her apart.
Aitzi is no stranger to the music industry, having burst onto the scene in 2014 as a singer and co-writer of the award-winning single “Noch Nie” with German singer-songwriter Tim Bendzko. This propelled her into a rich musical life, touring at a young age in Italy, France and Germany.
Since arriving in London, Aitzi has worked on her craft as an improvising vocalist, studying under Brigitte Beraha, Tina May, Nikki Iles and Clare Wheeler while also making her mark in vocal ensembles. She was a founding member of the award-winning a cappella group The Conchords
and now performs with The London Vocal Project under Pete Churchill, resulting in collaborations with jazz greats Norma Winstone, Dave Holland and The Printmakers.
Most recently, Aitzi has made waves in the London jazz scene with her own projects. One of these projects is Shades of Song, a collaborative endeavour with pianist Scottie Thompson. The duo breathes new life into the Great American Songbook, reimagining standards with a fresh sound
alongside original compositions. Alongside this, Aitzi leads her TETHYS Quintet, with wordless vocals as a central instrument alongside the guitar.

In 2022, she was selected for the prestigious Gutenberg Jazz Collective in Germany, an
international excellence programme for young and talented musicians. There she had the opportunity to work with Kris Davis, Ben Street, Billy Hart, Becca Stevens and Ingrid Jensen as part of their mentorship program.
Beyond her own projects, Aitzi has become a sought-after collaborator, dedicating herself to elevating the work of others while refining her craft as a versatile artist. Her distinctive wordless vocals have become a signature element of the Milena Granci Sextet, with a new album set for release later this year. Moreover, she recorded as part of the Philip Weyand Quintet the album KOSMEE in late 2023, with performances at major German venues such as LOFT and JAKI (Cologne), Jazz Schmiede (Düsseldorf) and B-flat (Berlin). She can also be heard as a vocalist for Sofia Will’s Large Ensemble VOLO, recording their debut album in 2024 and performing at the Bonn Jazz Festival 2025 and POST JAZZ in Mainz. Following her recent collaboration at the Bayreuth Jazz Festival 2024 with rising-star saxophonist Emma Rawicz, she will be performing with the acclaimed Emma Rawicz Jazz Orchestra at the Scarborough Jazz Festival 2025 later this year.
Since graduating, Aitzi has partnered with acclaimed pianist Barry Green in a duo project, featuring guest appearances from renowned UK jazz musicians Ian Ballamy and Dave Green. Their collaborations have taken them to major venues including the London Jazz Festival, Pizza Express Soho, 606 Club and Sheffield Jazz.
